Roman Humlíček, a skilled artisan with 16 years of experience at the Czech clothing
company Blažek, has since established his atelier, where he crafts for clientele
from both domestic and international fronts. Within these creative confines, the
very first model of the unique Tailored collection was imagined, revolutionizing the
perception of fashion in promotional clothing. By seamlessly blending time-honoured
craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, we have produced a garment that
epitomizes impeccable fit, exceptional quality, and meticulous attention to detail.
You are a prominent Czech tailor crafting for both local and international clientele.
Have you previously collaborated with companies within the promotional clothing
sector? What has motivated you to partner with us?
• My introduction to MALFINI occurred even before our formal collaboration. The
company made a lasting impression on me, and I established strong connecti-
ons with several individuals. When the proposition arose to expand the
MALFINI Premium brand's portfolio to include men's and women's shirts,

my decision was immediate. I embraced this opportunity as an invigorating
challenge that I eagerly embraced. Shirts have long been a central theme in my
work.
How do you perceive the concept of design?
• To me, design, particularly in the realm of product design, represents a delicate
equilibrium between aesthetics and functionality - two essential elements that
shape every object influenced by human hands. Additionally, apparel design
bears unique characteristics. It involves the interplay of material, typically fab-
rics that inherently lack a rigid form, and the wearer who imparts the garment
with its contour and expression.
What prompted your pursuit of tailoring?
CRAFTED • I must emphasize that it was tailoring that chose me, rather than the other way
around. I come from a lineage where this craft is a cherished legacy passed

in my grandfather's sewing atelier, and my aspiration to become a tailor akin to
him was unwavering.
